The Blue Gallery is run by husband and wife team Matthew and Caroline, with their friendly staff. The gallery stocks original, high quality art and craftwork, sourced from artists and craftspeople in Cumbria and other parts of the UK.

On this website you can see a selection of work including ceramics, original artwork, prints, sculptures, jewellery, wooden boxes, bowls and much more. Shipping is included in the website prices for UK customers, but items can be shipped worldwide, so if you are an overseas customer please contact us in advance for an accurate shipping price.

The gallery is situated in the centre of the pretty village of Hawkshead, just north of Esthwaite Water, approximately five miles from Ambleside. With its interesting buildings, small squares with cobbled streets, and a variety of pubs, restaurants and tearooms, together with interesting independent shops, it’s well worth a visit. The village has historical connections with Beatrix Potter, whose solicitor husband William Heelis had his office here (very near the gallery) and whose house, Hill Top is close by. William Wordsworth went to school at Hawkshead Grammar School, which is now a museum and can be visited in the summer months.
